For the First Time, The New York Times’ Executive Editor is a Black Man
Dean Bacquet, the Managing Editor of the New York Times, has been named its Executive Editor. He is the first black person to hold the job, the top job at the paper. Here is his official bio on the Times website.
As Wesley Lowrey, reporter for the Fix tweeted earlier today, “Tonight little black boys & little black girls can dream a little bigger. They can grow up to be most powerful person in American journalism.”
